Don’t Spit

Philadelphia, PA: While Philadelphia is not the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic like it was in the 1918 Influenza pandemic, some of the lessons learned from that experience a hundred years ago might be worth repeating.

Most of what our sitting president utters about this pandemic is probably not worth repeating unless one is a standup comedian in need of material.

Ingesting bleach? Are you serious? Inserting UV lights into… well, let’s just leave that one alone for the sake of decorum.

One piece of pandemic defense advice that endured the test of time and standup comedians is that posted on a sign at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in 1918- Don’t Spit.

I am going to the bank with that one as totally doable and very effective.
