The Bard, the Web and Contempt

This has absolutely nothing to do with Volvo 240’s or my wonky chemo situation at all. This is a snippet from a comment I sent to Mayim Bialik regarding the internet and neuroscience, in which she holds a doctorate.

“I recall the vaulting promises made for the nascent medium of television in the nineteen-fifties which never came close to being realized and upon examining the more contemporary vaulting promises of democracy and blue skies available to us all through the nascent medium of the web, I can only borrow from The Bard: familiarity breeds contempt.”

Thankfully, others will be left behind to figure out this social Rubik’s Cube.
