At exactly 4:30 this morning I began my re-start on the original targeted chemotherapy medication for my leukemia. I take this early each day and wait three hours to see if any side effects crop up that will affect my day’s plans.
After six months of fairly successful treatment we moved to a slightly different chemo in hopes of reducing the few lingering side effects I had been experiencing.
Well, that didn’t work out well at all and the regimen was halted at six days.
After a short hiatus from all meds we re-tested to establish new molecular bases I am now back taking the original regimen.
As my hematologist is given to saying, this is back to ‘the devil you know’ and I will wait my three hours to see if he makes another visitation upon me.
