Seems that Swedes still love them some old school Volvos judging by this 1982 Volvo 264 prominently displayed at the Göteborg airport..
This was the final year for the six cylinder inline engine, hence the ‘6’ in the model number and all later Volvos of this model line were simply identified as a 240.
Since the Volvo model numbers indicated which series (1 or 2); number of engine cylinders (4 or 6), and number of doors (2, 4 or 5 for wagons) we all assumed that 240’s were impossible to drive.
The Enigma 1992 244 borrows heavily from this era with the thin beltline (chine) trim and absence of the hideous black stickers on top of the doors.
